Guests at a wedding were left shocked after the mother-of-the-bride wore a wedding dress on her daughter’s special day.
A photo of the nuptials was posted in a Facebook group, showing the bride’s mum wearing an ivory dress with a sweetheart neckline and a full skirt, The Sun reported.
Members of the social media site couldn’t believe it when they saw the photo, with one saying: “Pretty sure the groom just married both of them.”
While the bride didn’t seem to mind having to take a backseat in the photo, with the mum taking centre stage, most ladies would be furious if anyone, let alone their mother, wore a bridal outfit on their big day.
Many women spend years thinking about their wedding dress and what design they want; indeed, some celebrities’ gowns have become so iconic, they have made it into Harper’s Bazaar’s top 20 wedding dresses of the decade.
This prestigious list includes the likes of Hailey Bieber’s custom-made lace gown by Off-White, which featured a cathedral-length veil.
Long veils have become popular over the last ten years, it seems, with Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra choosing a headpiece stretching 75 feet for her nuptials to Joe Jonas to complement her lace, buttoned-up-front Ralph Lauren outfit.
Actress Sophie Turner’s v-neck structured dress, designed by Louis Vuitton, was also breathtaking, with its square shoulders, wide sash belt, flower-embroidered tulle detailing, and long lace sleeves.
The list also featured the royal family, with Kate Middleton’s, Meghan Markle’s and Princess Eugenie’s gowns all making the cut.
Of course, nuptials aren’t just about the dresses, and couples should think wisely about their entertainment too. For a wedding everyone will enjoy, consider photo booth hire in Staffordshire.
