Short Wedding Dresses To Become Huge In 2022

Long wedding gowns will always be as popular as they are beautiful, but short wedding dresses are having their heyday

Long wedding gowns will always be as popular as they are beautiful, but short wedding dresses are having their heyday. Read on to find out which celebs have been sporting the trend so far.

  • Kourtney Kardashian

The Kardashians have collectively experimented with various types of wedding dresses, but none have gone for a minidress before. That was until Kourtney Kardashian wore Dolce & Gabbana’s L’Ulivette villa corseted, thigh-skimming dress, together with a cathedral-length veil and long matching gloves.

Tatler described Kourtney’s look at her Italian wedding to Blink-182 drummer Travis Baker as “the perfect mixture of traditional and cool”.

  • Lily Allen

British singing sensation Lily Allen also chose a short wedding dress for her Las Vegas wedding to David Harbour in 2020. She wore the 1960s-inspired smock dress that had a bateau neckline with black platform shoes and a veil.

The look was a far cry from her first wedding dress, a floor-length, long-sleeved lace gown, which she wore when she tied the knot with Sam Cooper in 2011.

  • Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley was obviously ahead of the times, as she chose a short wedding dress for her nuptials to Klaxons musician James Righton in 2013.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actress teamed the tulle Chanel dress with a matching Chanel boucle jacket and ballet pumps.

Proving that short wedding gowns are versatile, the 35-year-old wore her special dress again at the Serious Fun London Gala at The Roundhouse later that year, reported the Standard.
